Kevin Kuykendall is a Strategic Advisor of Energy Services for Blue Wolf Capital Partners LLC. The Blue Wolf Capital Funds are a family of private equity funds which focus on transformational investments in middle market companies.
Mr. Kuykendall has significant private equity investing experience, having led or played a significant role in 23 equity and debt investments in the energy sector. He has partnered with Blue Wolf to pursue energy services investments.
Mr. Kuykendall has over 20 years of cumulative energy investing experience. In 2013, he founded K2 Energy Capital, LLC, an energy-focused investment firm. Before founding K2, he was with American Capital Ltd., a publicly-traded buyout and mezzanine fund (NASDAQ: ACAS), where he created the American Capital Energy Group, building a peak portfolio of nearly a billion dollars of market value of energy-related equity and debt investments across oil and gas production, oilfield services, utility services and alternative energy.
Prior to ACAS, Mr. Kuykendall co-founded the Enron North America Principal Investments Group, where he played a significant role in building the group over a six-year period. At Enron, Mr. Kuykendall focused on originating, executing, managing, and exiting a wide variety of energy-related investments, including leveraged buyouts, asset breakups, and early-stage direct equity investments in the exploration and production, oilfield services, coal, utility services, power, and power technology sectors.
Mr. Kuykendall has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for five companies and has served on a total of 20 Boards of Directors.
Mr. Kuykendall received a B.B.A. with a concentration in finance and a minor in business law, summa cum laude and co-valedictorian, from the University of Oklahoma and a M.B.A. with a finance concentration from the University of Texas at Austin.
