Rick Tattersfield is an Operating Partner at Blue Wolf Capital Partners LLC. The Blue Wolf Capital Funds are a family of private equity funds which focus on transformational investments in middle market companies.
Mr. Tattersfield has over 30 years of professional experience in industry, working across a wide range of sectors, including capital equipment, automotive, Green Tech., scientific instruments and after-market services, around the world in a range of businesses from pre-revenue start-ups to $16 billion international corporations. He was CEO and is currently Chairman of Blue Wolf’s portfolio company Pearl Technologies, Inc. (Gloucester).
Mr. Tattersfield was named a Blue Wolf Operating Partner in 2015. Previously, he held the positions of COO of 1366 Technologies, an MIT spin out aiming to produce solar power at the cost of coal, and senior roles at GT Advanced Technologies, where he served as VP and General Manager of the company’s Sapphire equipment product line where he built the team and developed the road map for the company’s fastest growing business. Prior to that role, he was VP and General Manager of GT Solars’ PV Equipment Division and VP of the company’s Global Operations. During his tenure, the company accelerated its operations capability from making a few machines each month to several per day, expanded its supply chain and service capabilities, expanded the facility in Nashua, NH and opened facilities in Shanghai and Hong Kong. His other prior experience includes operational and general management roles at industrial manufacturer, Illinois Tool Works (ITW), Instron, and IST GmbH.
Mr. Tattersfield received his B.S. in Engineering from the Royal Navy Engineering College and his M.S. in Engineering from Cranfield University, where he also completed a Fellowship in Manufacturing Management, and various executive education programs at MIT’s Sloan School, including the Greater Boston Executive Program.
