Mr. Armstrong is an Operating Partner at Blue Wolf Capital Partners with over 40 years of experience in the Engineering and Construction industry in the areas of project management, commercial management, financial planning, management information, estimating, and learning. His fields of experience include gas plants, refineries, chemical facilities and nuclear and fossil power plants. Mr. Armstrong’s work has taken him to the Middle East, India, Africa, Europe and North America.

Prior to joining the firm in 2018, Mr. Armstrong led project controls and risk management diligence at The State Group, a Blue Wolf portfolio company. Prior to that, he spent 36 years at Bechtel, where he was part of the firm’s leadership team and a Principal Vice President. He last served as the appointed Dean of EPC Functions for Bechtel University. Mr. Armstrong also served as Corporate Manager of Project Controls, CFO and Business Manager for Bechtel’s Power Division, Manager of Project Controls and Contracts for Bechtel’s Oil and Gas Division, Project Controls and Business Manager on a $3.5 billion refinery project in India, and Deputy Project Manager on a $1.2 billion gas plant in Abu Dhabi.

From 2015 to 2017, Mr. Armstrong joined General Electric as a Senior Executive to assist in the creation of and operate as a key leader in the Corporate Projects Group to promote sound project management practices across the GE group of companies.

Mr. Armstrong received a B.S. in Mathematics from Canisius College and a M.B.A. in Operations Management from Penn State University.
