Mark Carpenter

Operating Partner

Mr. Carpenter is an Operating Partner at Blue Wolf Capital Partners with over 33 years of professional experience, predominantly in the construction, consulting and building products industries. Mr. Carpenter has worked for public and private companies, both private equity and family owned, ranging from $50 million to over $8 billion in revenue. His experience includes working with three different private equity sponsors, executing corporate carve outs, restructurings, turnarounds and a successful IPO.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Carpenter successfully led the restructuring, turnaround and ultimate sale of Dayton Superior Corporation, a leading manufacturer and distributor of engineered products for the construction industry. Under private equity ownership, as President and CEO, he implemented transformational commercial, supply chain and operational changes that raised EBITDA more than 3x and repositioned the company as the industry leader for customer service and innovation.

Prior to that, Mr. Carpenter spent 14 years at Hanson Building Products, later renamed Forterra, one of the largest global building materials groups. He worked his way up through the company in several leadership roles, ultimately serving as President of the largest concrete pipe and precast manufacturer in North America. Mr. Carpenter led the business through a corporate carve out, into private equity ownership and through an IPO. Earlier in his career he was a management consultant, focused on acquisition integration, interim management, restructuring and operational improvement, and a construction project manager.

Mr. Carpenter received a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Brunel University and an MBA from Henley Business School.
