Blue Wolf Capital Partners LLC, the New York-based private equity firm, announced today that it has closed on $300 million in limited partner equity commitments for its latest fund, Blue Wolf Capital Fund III, L.P. Fund III’s investors, which are primarily located in the United States and Europe, include foundations, endowments, fund of funds and public, corporate, and Taft-Hartley pension funds. The Fund was oversubscribed relative to its hard cap of $300 million. Blue Wolf now manages over $460 million in capital and capital commitments.
Through Fund III, Blue Wolf will continue to execute its proven strategy of taking control stakes in middle market companies based in the United States and Canada, and working with those companies to resolve complexities and achieve sustainable growth. Blue Wolf invests in strong businesses whose value can be increased by constructive resolutions of complex challenges, particularly those involving financial or operational distress, troubled labor relations, or governmental or regulatory issues. To date, Fund III has already made investments in Twin Rivers Paper Company, Inc. and Suwannee Lumber Company LLC.
